Welcome to my Family History section, I have spent a small amount of time researching the history of my family. which to be honest has not been the easiest thing to do, even though there seems to be Kimber's everywhere, they all seem to have the same names and come from the same places with similar birth dates yet in no way related to each other.
Anyway on to the family side of things, so far from my pedigree line I have managed to reach back as far as circa. 1788, although this cannot be confirmed at present, I am hoping to visit some places in Dorset and Hampshire that will help firm things up.
There are several surnames within the family, and where I have information I will fill in a bit, although I am mainly interested in my pedigree line I am not adverse to filling in other families that link in, you never know I could be living next door to a distant relative.
Some of the information here has been obtained from other sites and sources, where this is the case then recognition is given, but If I have used something from your site and you are not happy about it please let me know and I will remove it.
Lets start with the Kimber name, below is the Kimber family crest which I have borrowed from Antony Kimber.
The coat of arms is described as
"Argent three cornish choughs sable beaks and legs
gules on a chief of the second as many mullets of the
first"
At the bottom is the motto "Franges Non Flectes" which translates as "Thou May'st Break, But Shall Not Bend Me".
My immediate strain of the Kimber family are from a farming heritage and they all seem to come from the Wimborne Minster area of Dorset and surrounding areas, Of the Males myself and my brother are the first not to have had any connection to an agricultural or rural career.
As for the tree, its a little difficult to recreate on a webpage for an amateur like me, but will do my best, for those that would like a better look, it is available on genesreunited if you can get to it.
Click here for the tree although i will try to make it graphical shortly.
